Visiting San Francisco is always special for me. It is one of the most unique places in the World. We were heading there from Lake Tahoe. There are not too many food options in the Golden Gate National Park so we decided to grab something before. There was beautiful weather, dry, sunshine, in the 80's. The lunch was really enjoyable outdoors.
Not more than 20 minutes drive from there we arrived to Golden Gate. What we got there was over our expectations. There was fog, mist strong winds and the temperature is the lover 50' . Because I wasn't prepared for such weather i had to put on 2-3 shirts to keep myself somehow warm.
This surprise is what I love about San Fran. I'm here for the 3rd time but i always forgot that being summer or winter there is always wind and temperatures in the 60's.
Luckily on the second day I had the chance to take several shots from all the angels of Golden Gate.
Because I missed sunrise, I could not take any valuable shots in great light. For this reason I have to promise that i return to this amazing place on the West Coast.
What is your favorite place in San Francisco?
If you take of the beaten path between Sacramento and San Francisco and take the longer drive over the mountains to Napa Valley you can stop by for a few minutes at this engineering masterpiece. The beautiful rolling hills and curvy roads makes this long rode a driving experience. I would choose this anytime over following up a truck on the highway. Not to mention that you can stop at some of the famous and recognized wineries in just half an hour drive in Napa Valley.
What makes this dam unique and special is the overflow design. There is 25-30 ft diameter channel which prevents too high water levels. When there is too much water in the reservoir it look like a giant sinkhole in middle of a beautiful lake.
I wish I could use my drone here, but unfortunately it's forbidden.
It's always nice to remember one of the greatest parties of my life. This is my second post about the carnival in Rio. I hope I can transfer to your living room or cellphone a hint of this magical atmosphere which surrounds Sapucai. Too many words. Let the photos talk.
Photos taken during my travels in the US and abroad. Enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed being at the locations
