About 2 hours drive West from Reno Nevada you arrive to an abandoned valley where there are no trees there are no bushes or even grass. It's a really cool drive as you go along the 2 lane road straight as long as you can see. Beside the roadway there are thousands of names, hearts, love messages build from stones. This make he drive really exciting. There is no traffic but seems that there are many people driving by that are. I guess if you want to build your own name or your sweethearts you have to bring stones with you or steel from a previously made name because as long as I could see from the road wasn't any laying around. There is a weird atmosphere because you can barely see any traffic but all those names around you make you feel surrounded by people.
When I arrived to the actual park everything made sens. Thousands of RVs were parking around the Sand Mountain. I could not imagine the actual size. It's a huge sand playground. Hundreds of little sand buggies are going up and down jumping over of this huge sand monument. For our luck we were there for Easter Weekend which is the busiest weekend of the year. From distance it looked like a huge festival. For a few seconds I thought that I arrived to Burning Man.
If you have the chance don't miss the opportunity to stop by for a few selfies.
50 minutes drive from Reno NV and approximately 2 hours of drive from Sacramento CA there is a crystal clean freshwater lake between 9000 ft high mountains. There is not bad time to visit Lake Tahoe. During the summer we can enjoy the cooling waves in its beaches on the North (line Sand Beach). During the winter we can slide along the dozens of different ski slopes around.
The following photos were taken in April. The water was still super cold but during the day the weather was perfect for hiking.
The ski slopes are still busy not surprising with the 10' of snow on its slopes.
Photos taken during my travels in the US and abroad. Enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed being at the locations
